We throw out some stats that may surprise you as well. With the Women’s World Cup completed, I air my thoughts on the talking heads of sports radio and why they need to leave the soccer commentary to those that enjoy the sport. What does the future hold for the USA Women’s soccer team….find out here. Finally, nothing like a bit of swimming to round out the show. How much has technology effected the record books in swimming. They swing things off first with some MLB All Star Game analysis. The dominant NL pitchers were showcased on Tuesday’s game and the powerful AL hitters could do nothing but sit back and swing at air. Plus, how relevant is the MLB Home Run Derby these days? How exciting can a 3-hour home run competition actually be? I mean, come on! Also, the All Star teams boasted a huge roster this year consisting of 83 players total. This is just ridiculous. No shows from players. Players dropping out left & right. We air our thoughts about what needs to change.

With the end of the NFL Lockout looming and with a free agency free-for-all around the corner, which teams are a few key players away from being contenders? We scan the league, starting in the NFC. We single out San Francisco and Arizona specifically. Jump over to the AFC where we examine the Raiders, Chiefs, and Dolphins. A very intriguing division is the AFC South in our minds.

Finally, the USA Women’s Soccer Team is headed to the World Cup Final. After a somewhat disappointing appearance from the Men’s National Team in South Africa, we look to the ladies of the grass to deliver that American spirit and pride on Sunday. Let’s see what the ladies of the red, white, and blue can do!!

About a year ago, LeBron James was predicting a long NBA dynasty for the Miami Heat after his controversial “Decision” to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers for South Beach. Following Sunday night’s decisive victory by the Mavericks over the Heat in game six of the 2011 NBA Finals, any dynasty will have to wait. Dallas wasn’t the only part of the country celebrating. The Heat and LeBron James will go into a long summer of looking to improve themselves. Don’t count them out in 2012.

As we count down to Wednesday night’s big Game 7 in the NHL, there are too many storylines to discuss in this podcast. Can a road team get a win? Will Roberto Luongo allow an early goal? Will he get pulled out of net for the backup? Does Tim Thomas win the Conn Smyth (Finals MVP) no matter what the outcome is? Most importantly, will we get overtime? Yes, please!

Who do you like in this weekend’s U.S. Open? It is a wide open field with as many of 30 to 40 golfers with a legitimate shot at hoisting the trophy. We will be rooting for Phil.
