NASCAR Final Race of the Season 2011: Episode 84
Steve and Dave breakdown the final race of the NASCAR season. Edwards and Stewart battle in one of the closest races yet in the history of the Chase. Who takes in? Listen in and find out.
Sunday is a huge day if you’re a fan of NASCAR. The final race for the Cup is about to take place in Homestead-Miami Speedway. It’s NASCAR’s Game 7 scenario – 3 points separate the top two contenders. The battle for the Cup comes down to the young stud of the sport, Carl Edwards, and a seasoned veteran, Tony Stewart. Stewart has been on an absolute tear the last ten races, winning four and making his charge in the Chase standings. Edwards has been the picture of consistency throughout the year, on the track and in the pits. Stewart’s time on the Miami Speedway has been anything but consistent. His finishes have fluctuated from 33rd to 1st over an 11-year span. On the other hand, Edwards has never finished lower than 14th and has consistently ranked in the Top 8 over the past six years. When it comes down to racing, anything is possible. We have seen it race after race. Drivers get anxious and make dumb maneuvers. A lug nut doesn’t get on a tire and the driver loses several positions. A purposeful wreck takes out more than a few drivers. We hope the final race sees nothing of this and a good, clean race is driven. Listen in as we predict the winner of this year’s NASCAR season!
