Show Notes
- Roger Clemens. Former major league baseball pitcher Roger Clemens was indicted on perjury charges after denying using performance-enhancing drugs before Congress. Clemens, for some reason, is not charged with violating federal law by possessing or using illegal substances. He is charged merely with lying to members of Congress. Is this issue what you want your legislative branch of government focused on?
- AFC West. The San Diego Chargers have dominated the AFC West for several years and have realistic Super Bowl aspirations, even with the departure of two franchise cornerstones and a suspension/holdout of their top wide receiver. Is it because they are loaded, or the weakness of the rest of the division? The Denver Broncos are always interesting. After starting last season 6-0, they failed to make the playoffs finishing the season 8-8. They may have been playing over their heads a bit to start last season, but that second half collapse was of epic proportions. The Broncos added Brady Quinn and Tim Tebow to challenge Kyle Orton on the quarterback depth chart. They also lost their top two receiving threats in Brandon Marshall and Tony Scheffler, so, who will replace their production? If the Kansas City Chiefs’ trend of doubling their victories continues, they should be in for an 8-8 season. Yeah, probably not going happen. This team, however, is building something. The Chiefs have pinned their hopes on new coordinators Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis, draft picks Eric Berry and Dexter McCluster along with free agent acquisition Thomas Jones. Can Weis do for Matt Cassel what he did for Tom Brady? With seven consecutive losing seasons since 2002, Oakland Raiders fans are trying to stay positive. Our resident Raider fan, Steve, is no different as he predicts an 8-8 season for the silver and black. JaMarcus Russell is the very definition of addition by subtraction, so, who knows?
