Sports Unleashed has prepared part five of the eight-part NFL divisional preview for your consumption. This week, the cast heads to the AFC South for some good old fashioned pigskin discussion. It is going to be very difficult to overtake Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts. The Houston Texans, Tennessee Titans and Jacksonville Jaguars are all young and up-and-coming. Which of them pose the greatest threat to the dominant Colts?
The 2010 Ryder Cup is right around the corner and U.S. Captain Corey Pavin has some difficult decisions to make. Pavin is, no doubt, excited about the way the top eight qualifiers are playing, but, its the four captain’s picks that could make or break this year’s U.S. team. Is it possible that Tiger Woods is left off this years squad? Don’t bet on it…
Only in the south: An Arkansas radio personality announced that she was fired on Monday, just two days after wearing a Florida Gators ball cap to an Arkansas Razorbacks news conference. We know the SEC loves their football, but, this may be a tad excessive.

- AFC South preview. The Indianapolis Colts have won at least twelves games in each of the past seven seasons, and the Unleashed crew envisions more of the same in 2010. This team is the class of not only the AFC South, but, the entire conference. Peyton Manning may be 34 years old, but, he is showing no signs of slowing down. The Houston Texans are on the rise. While they had one of the quieter offseasons in the division, they did address a few pressing needs at running back, offensive line and place kicker. The Tennessee Titans are 26-13 when Vince Young starts behind center and they have handed him the keys for the 2010 season. It is year 3 with Offensive Coordinator Mike Heimerdinger and the defense has been infused with some talented youth. This may very well be a wild card team. The Jagsonville Jaguars have had some financial difficulties the past few seasons and it appears to have continued with their release of DT John Henderson. However, the overall defense should be improved with the additions of Tyson Alualu, Kirk Morrison and Aaron Kampman. The Jags could surprise some folks.
- 2010 U.S. Ryder Cup team. Phil Mickelson, Hunter Mahan, Bubba Watson, Jim Furyk, Steve Stricker, Dustin Johnson, Jeff Overton and Matt Kuchar all qualified for the U.S. team based on points accumulated over a two-year period. Who is to be chosen for the final four roster spots? A noticeable omission from the top eight is the world’s No. 1 player, Tiger Woods. He dropped down to 12th on the points list after a tie for 28th at the PGA Championship, and along with a bunch of others like Anthony Kim, Lucas Glover and Zach Johnson, will have to rely on Captain Pavin for a wildcard selection when Pavin makes that decision in New York City on September 7.
- Arkansas radio personality is hogtied. Renee Gork announced on Twitter that she had been fired by KAKS, a northwest Arkansas radio station that calls itself Hog Sports Radio. Gork had worn a Gator hat Saturday to a news conference with Arkansas Razorbacks football coach Bobby Petrino. Gork, a Florida graduate, said she grabbed the hat without thinking Saturday because it was raining outside. She also said she sent a letter of apology to the university and Petrino. Is there a college football coach who is despised more than Bobby Petrino?
