Astronaut Douglas Wheelock officially checked into the International Space Station last week. Mr. Wheelock unlocked the ‘NASA Explorer’ badge with his check-in nearly 200 miles above the Earth. The co-founder of FourSquare was very excited about the buzz this news generated.

Quick Environment: Largest Solar Project Approved
The Obama Administration has finally approved a massive solar project in the southern area of California. The 1,000-megawatt plant is designed to energized nearly 2 million homes at its capacity. This is the largest solar project placed on US public lands.

Quick Health: Nursing Home Fined $100,000
The Kern County nursing facility was fined $100,000 from the California Department of Public Health for direct involvement with the death of a patient. The AA citation is the most severe fine a nursing facility can earn.
