The NL Central was relatively bottom-heavy in 2010. There was a healthy gap between the teams at the top and the ones at the bottom of the heap. In fact, only two teams in the league’s only 6-team division finished with winning records. Pittsburgh and Houston appear to be looking at close to 100 losses once again. Chicago and Milwaukee should be right around .500 this season after some big acquisitions have improved their rosters. St. Louis have plenty of stars, but seem to lack the depth that Cincinnati can roll out there on a daily basis. SUL likes the Reds to repeat their division crown in 2011. One of the deepest rotations in baseball, plenty of youth up and down the lineup, a solid bullpen and a great manager with winning experience. It looks like a recipe for success.
March Madness has begun! Well, the inaugural ‘First Four’ has begun, but, SUL is having a hard time getting excited about play-in games. The real madness starts Thursday morning. So, get your brackets done and have your red pen handy. Keep this fun fact in mind: consistently over the last 15 years there has been an average of 8.1 upsets in the tourney. Doesn’t seem like many upsets out of 63 games, does it?
Kendrick Perkins has some strong words for Pau Gasol and Phil Jackson. SUL gives it’s opinion. Enjoy!
