Show Notes

The American League East has produced the eventual AL pennant winner in each of the last three seasons and seven of the last 10. In six of the last seven years, the AL East has also produced the wild-card team. Almost without question, the AL East is the toughest division to win in baseball. The Baltimore Orioles went 34-23 under new manager Buck Showwalter last season, have a young, yet talented starting rotation starting rotation, added lots of power in the off-season and have one of the better young outfields in the AL. There you go, thats all the positives we could muster for this team. The Toronto Blue Jays grew up a lot last season, finishing with 85 wins. Their rotation still boasts solid arms in Ricky Romero and Brandon Morrow, but they are short Shaun Marcum, who, as you know, is now a Brewer. Look for Kyle Drabek to contribute and lots of home runs. We love the addition of Rajai Davis, but, they are dealing with a division that has stacked the deck. Was there a single team this off-season that lost more in the way of talent than the Tampa Bay Rays did? From losing their All-Star left fielder, Carl Crawford, to trading one of their best pitchers, Matt Garza, it’s difficult to see this team being competitive in 2011. They still have David Price, and Jeremy Hellickson; they still have Evan Longoria and B.J. Upton. The Yankees are going to score a ton of runs this year. The Yankees are going to give up a ton of runs this season. Get ready for some 4 hour games New York. Will it be CC, Hughes and get ready to lose, or will the back end of the rotation come together? The Boston Red Sox are loaded. Top to bottom, one of the best 25 man rosters in baseball today. The additions of Adrian Gonzalez and Carl Crawford will do wonders and they boast one of the very best starting rotations in all of baseball.

Jim Gray gets in squabble with Dustin Johnson’s caddy and Miguel Cabrera got busted drinking and driving. When will these guys learn?

Apparently, Carmelo Anthony got traded. You may have heard something about that. New York is abuzz, but are the Knicks any better following the trade? Everyone wants to talk Melo, but Ryan thinks Chauncey Billups could be the key part of the trade as far as their 2011 playoff hopes go.

What will you be watching this weekend? Dave and Ryan tell you what they have queued up on their DVRs. Enjoy!

Pretty solid podcast guys. There should be a little more Kevin Mitchell talk IMO but still, pretty solid.

Hey Harriet, thanks for the comment and I'm glad you enjoyed the cast. We appreciate the feedback and suggestions.

I agree with you Harriet. I will never forget the barehanded catch he made against the Cardinals in 1989.
