Show Notes

This week’s segment of the MLB preview focuses on the AL Central. Despite losing more big league players than they added this offseason, the Minnesota Twins appear to be the most well-rounded club in the division with a solid rotation, good lineup and possibly reliable bullpen. They welcome back all-stars Joe Nathan and Justin Morneau from injury. That alone will make them stronger as they look to repeat their division-winning success. The Detroit Tigers have a nice offensive nucleus developing – Miguel Cabrera, Austin Jackson, Ryan Raburn, Victor Martinez and Jhonny Peralta is nothing to sneeze at. Will their rotation hold up?  For the Chicago Whitesox, the return of Paul Konerko, and the signing of Adam Dunn should go a long way in bringing real consistency to the offense. They have one of the better rotations in the AL and we expect they will compete all season long. Then, there are the Cleveland Indians and Kansas City Royals. Both are young teams that have a couple more years to wait until they put themselves in the mix. Hang in there Cleveland and KC, better days are head with so many promising young players maturing.

Ohio State’s loss to Wisconsin reignited the No. 1 debate. Dave and Ryan feel they should have remained #1 even after the tough loss in Madison as there is no shame in losing up there. Kansas lost to Kansas State, but remain in the conversation. Texas is right there as well. Pittsburgh and Duke aren’t going away any time soon. March should be fun, but, for now, who do you think deserves to be ranked at the top of the polls?

DeMarcus Cousin had an altercation with teammate DonteGreene in the locker room following a close 99-97 loss to the Thunder just a few days ago. Cousins was deemed “inactive” for the Kings last game, a win at Phoenix, and was fined one game’s pay for the incident. With eyes locked on him and how he’d react to his first action since the locker room dust-up, Cousins, and the rest of the team, appeared to have everything behind them.

Vick on Oprah? Really? Well maybe not…he flaked on her and the appearance after all. Who would you rather see on Oprah?

Daytona 500 is here this weekend, what will you be watching?
