Art of Touch Project, Xbox, and Windows Phone Apps: Episode 3
On this episode of The Microsoft Experience Podcast we discuss the Art of Touch Project from the Microsoft Hardware Division, Xbox 360 sales as well as new Windows Phone 7 applications.
1. Xbox 360 still number 1 as sales reach record levels
- NPD reports that Microsoft made 393,000 xbox 360 sales in October.
- Xbox 360 games also represented six of the top 10 console games on sale in October, including titles such as Batman: Arkham City and the Xbox-exclusive Forza Motorsport 4.
- They have also started to become an entertainment hub. A new Metro interface is being introduced. When the update is released to the public later this month, it will bring new features such as Bing content search, access to YouTube videos, improved Kinect gesture integration, wider voice control and a new live TV service, featuring content from providers such as the BBC, HBO GO and Comcast.
2. The Art of Touch Project – www.artoftouch.com – Microsoft Hardware division officially kicks off the Art of Touch project. This is an international art campaign that blends art and technology. At artoftouch.com you will be presented with an art canvas and you have some design tools available to you. You can create some pretty cool designs using their interface.
- You can submit and share your digital artwork through facebook/twitter or make it your desktop background on your Windows 7 desktop.
- From the Windows Blog: When you create and save artwork on The Art of Touch website, you are contributing to a “global masterpiece” – the “Sea of Art” communal canvas – that could quite possibly become one of the largest displays of digital artwork ever created!
