Show Notes
Did you know that Pensacola is America’s oldest European settlement? A lot of people give that credit to St. Augustine, FL… but they do so erroneously. Pensacola was actually founded before St. Augustine, but a hurricane wiped out the settlement and it wasn’t resettled for over 100 years. St. Augustine has been constantly inhabited since its founding. Pensacola is also the birthplace of Florida. It was here, in Plaza Ferdinand, named after King Ferdinand VII, that Florida was ceded by Spain to the United States in 1821.
Pensacola is also the cradle of Naval Aviation and the home of the Blue Angels and the National Museum of Naval Aviation. The guys talk flying, museums, restaurants, clubs, music, and of course, fun. A little bit of history and a lot of chat about the city and why Dan will never move in this episode. Download or stream for the full scoop.
