Show Notes

Around 400 BC the Chinese developed kites, some believe, to be used as part of religious rituals. They have, throughout time, been used for everything from fun to fighting.  Hot air balloons were developed around 200 AD but their use as a form of transportation didn’t begin until the late 1700s when Jacques Montgolfier floated some livestock around for a few minutes.  By the 1850s George Cayley was thinking of moving man via glider. 1903 rolls around to find the Wright Brothers, Orville and Wilbur, and Samuel Langley separately working on inventions that they hope will forever change the way that people get from place to place. • Spirit of St. Louis
  • Spruce Goose
  • P-51 Mustang
  • Enola Gay – B-29 Bomber
  • Bell X-1
  • B-24 Bomber – The Liberator
  • U-2 and SR-71 spy planes
