Brings more than fifteen years of experience in Leadership Development, Coaching and Human Resource Management to his work as a performance consultant, motivational speaker and author. John Brubaker’s professional background is rich and varied. Prior to launching his consultancy, he spent over a decade as a college head coach and professor. Most recently, Brubaker spent four years on air with ESPN Radio and Fox Sports as an analyst and personality.

Coach Bru guided the St. Andrew’s College lacrosse program from 2001-2004 leading them to unparalleled success producing Top 10 national rankings each year and an NCAA Final Four appearance. A three time coach of the year, Brubaker has coached nine All-Americans and had seven of his players drafted to play professionally.  He’s a popular speaker at trade shows and conventions and is author of the book, “The Coach Approach: Success Strategies From The Locker Room To The Board Room.”  He lives in Maine with his wife and two kids is active in his community and spends a lot of time working with deaf children.

1. Do you think business owners and managers need to think like a coach when running their business and what does that entail?

2. How would you describe your coaching style when you wore a whistle? If one end of the spectrum is a laid back coach like NBA coach Cotton Fitzsimmons, in the middle a coach like Pat Riley and then at the other end Bobby Knight.
